With over 20 years of experience in media production, Karlina has dedicated her career to creating engaging educational content. She began in 1996 as a producer’s assistant at CineTel Films in Los Angeles, later moving to New York to spend eight years in the International Production Department at Sesame Workshop.
In 2005, Karlina returned to her roots in New England and became a consulting producer for the Cambodian Educational Media Initiative (CEMI), a partnership between WGBH and World Education. Her work with CEMI involved producing localized versions of Sesame Street, Peep the Big Wide World and Rx for Survival, bringing impactful educational content to Cambodian families.
In more recent years, Karlina has expanded her creative focus to include documentary and feature film production. Her credits include The Ghost Trap (2023) Light Attaching to a Girl (2022), Routine Interrupted (2022), and The Heroin Effect (2017). She continues to give back through her role on World Education's Bantwana Advisory Board and, in 2014, was honored with a Boston/New England Emmy for her work on a national child abuse awareness PSA.
Karlina holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication from Emerson College ('96) and a Master of Arts in Media Studies from The New School University ('04). She is currently pursuing a Certificate in Learning Design and Technology at the Harvard Extension School, further enhancing her commitment to educational media.
